A Smoky Mountain Itinerary: Spice Up Your Weekend in the Smokies at No Way Jose’s
Are you looking for an excuse to get away to the Smokies? Now is the perfect time to enjoy a weekend of fun and relaxation in the mountains, and we have a sample Smoky Mountain itinerary that will spice things up! Read on to find out more!
Friday
Begin your weekend getaway with authentic Mexican cuisine at No Way Jose’s in Gatlinburg! Our large outdoor patio overlooking the river is perfect for breathing in the fresh mountain air and enjoying the scenery over delicious food and drinks. From fajitas to enchiladas, burritos, tacos, and nachos, our dishes feature fresh ingredients and made-from-scratch queso and salsa. Choose from various alcoholic beverages to pair with your meal, like our famous margaritas, tropical cocktails, and local and domestic beer.
After dinner, watch the sunset from the Gatlinburg Space Needle and take in the unbeatable panoramic views of downtown Gatlinburg nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains. It’s a must for anyone’s Smoky Mountain itinerary! Then you can wind down and relax at your hotel or cabin– you’ll definitely want a good night’s sleep for the big day ahead!
Saturday
Get up bright and early for a big breakfast at Crockett’s Breakfast Camp. Their iconic griddle cakes and hearty breakfast skillets are known to satisfy even the hungriest of appetites, and you have to try one of their giant cinnamon rolls! After that filling breakfast, you’ll be ready to go exploring in Great Smoky Mountains National Park– there are plenty of things to do in Cades Cove, hiking trails to waterfalls, panoramic views from Clingmans Dome, and scenic drives such as the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. We recommend packing a picnic lunch for a nice break since there are so many picnic areas throughout the area, such as Metcalf Bottoms, Cades Cove, or along the Foothills Parkway.
Before dinner, spend the afternoon at Gatlinburg SkyPark. It’s home to the one-of-a-kind SkyBridge, one of the best things to do in Gatlinburg for adults! If you want to escape the heat or rain, spend time at an indoor attraction such as Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, or enjoy a round or two of mini golf, ride a mountain coaster, or sample moonshine at a distillery. For dinner, The Greenbrier Restaurant offers an elevated dining experience in a Smoky Mountain lodge setting, perfect for celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying an upscale meal and cocktails with a beautiful view.
Sunday
After a long and full day the day before, you can take a slow morning to enjoy the views from your cabin deck or hotel balcony, sip your morning coffee leisurely, and spend quality time with your significant other, family, or friends. After you check out, you can spend some time browsing The Village Shops or drive the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community loop and stop at the many shops and galleries selling handmade pottery, leather goods, jewelry, artwork, candles, etc. before heading home.
We hope you’ll add us to your Smoky Mountain itinerary for a fun weekend with a group of friends or your family! Learn more about our menu and how we have the best Mexican food in Gatlinburg. We look forward to seeing you soon!
